2008/08/01 - First ever God Forbid DVD in stores now!
It has come to our attention that some of you have had problems with our DVD. We asked Century Media to look into it, they checked with their manufacturer as well as the Dave Brodsky, the producer , and no one can find anything wrong with it. In fact the band, label and Dave all tested the DVD on various players before it went to the manufacturer and had no problems. The manufacturer said they ran similar tests and nothing is coming up saying there is a problem. So we are all just as perplexed as you are.
Century Media has asked that anyone with problems mail their DVD back to them (it can just be the discs) and they will replace them with what we all hope are functional discs (they'll check 'em) as well as some schwag to make up for the hassle.
We're really sorry for those who have had trouble and sorry it's taken a while to come up with a solution. Here's the address to send in the DVDs:

2008/03/25 - GF announce co-headline tour with Death Angel; DVD gets release date!
GOD FORBID will kick off their 2008 worldwide touring schedule with a massive co-headlining North American tour, dubbed "In Thrash We Trust," with Death Angel this spring. The trek, which kicks off on May 1st, also features Soilent Green and Light This City in the support slots. Fans can expect to hear some new GOD FORBID tracks and be sure to see below to view the complete tour itinerary.
GOD FORBID are back in black and ready to deliver their career defining statement with their much-anticipated new full-length album, which is set for a late summer release. However, preceding this release will be the group's first ever DVD, Beneath the Scars of Glory and Progression, which is set for a June 10th release. This package features a sold-out performance shot with multi camera angels at the Starland Ballroom in the group's hometown, all of their promotional videos and an hour documentary composed of historical insight, introspection into each member's personalities, and some hysterical social commentary.
Doc Coyle states: "I am very proud to announce that GOD FORBID will be hitting the road in America on a co-headline tour with the legendary Death Angel. This is our first full U.S. tour in many years, so we feel honored that they would choose to do this with us. We will be splitting the closing of the shows so we can each get a chance to play in front of each others fans, which will be awesome. The rest of the bill is great as well. This is a dynamic and powerful line-up of veterans, legends and new comers. I think fans will really love this package. This tour will give us an opportunity to support our forthcoming DVD, Beneath the Scars of Glory and Progression. I don't want to jinx the release date, but everything is pointing to that it will come out around half way through the tour. We also plan to play at least a couple new songs. We hope to see you all soon."

2008/03/17 - God Forbid announce 2 special shows in April!
God Forbid will be taking some time from the studio to do a couple shows next month. First off, we will be playing in our hometown of New Brunswick, NJ for the first time in nearly a decade. The show will take place at The Court Tavern which is also the location of the first ever show we played (before we were called God Forbid). Keep in mind this show is 21 and up, and the room only holds about 200 people, and there are no pre-sale tickets. First come, first serve. We hope to see a lot of old faces. We also be playing this year's New England Metal Fest which is familiar ground for the band, and we look forward to playing with our good friends in Meshuggah and Nevermore. Good times for all!
April 11th - The Court Tavern - New Brunswick, NJ (21 and up)
April 27th - The Palladium - Worcester, MA (New England Metal Fest)

2008/01/29 - GOD FORBID Announces DVD Title and Contest Winner; Prepares To Enter The Studio
Last week GOD FORBID turned to their fans to help them come up with a title for their much anticipated new DVD and the fans rose to the occasion with a barrage of submissions. Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) checks in to announce the winning submission: "After a good deal of deliberation, the boys in GOD FORBID, with a little help from our A+R guy and manager, have picked a winner for the contest to name our upcoming DVD. And the winner is (drum roll please) David Cazares from Chino, CA with the title Beneath The Scars of Glory and Progression. Congratulations go out to David. He made our jobs a lot easier. Maybe we'll have our fans name everything from now on. I would like also like to announce our 2nd and 3rd place contestants: Alex Damske from Naperville, IL with Declaration of Treachery and finally Heol Cennen from Llandeilo, UK with Constitution of Touring. It was a close decision and I did not expect to get some many great responses.
"I would personally like to thank everyone who participated. We definitely have some creative fans. Our decision came down to choosing something that was unique and dynamic, but also captured, in a statement, what this DVD really says about GOD FORBID. The concert and documentary featured on the DVD are positives forces in our band's movement from turbulence to continuous kinetic growth. It deserved a title that illustrated that with all the bad things that have happened to us, even more good things happened, and we look forward to an even brighter future. Thanks again to David Cazares, all who participated in the contest, and everyone who worked on the DVD.
GOD FORBID will enter the studio early next month with longtime producer Eric Rachel (Atreyu, In This Moment) at Trax East in NJ to record the highly anticipated new album. Be sure to stay tuned to http://www.myspace.com/godforbid for current news and studio reports.
Just to let you all know, we've officially gotten our myspace address changed to http://www.myspace.com/godforbid from the dreadful god4bid. This will make our page a lot more simple to find for new viewers and fans. Enjoy!
2008/01/21 - GOD FORBID Allow The Fans To Name Their New DVD!
GOD FORBID wrapped up an extremely successfully 2007 as part of the Stillborn Fest playing alongside Hatebreed and Agnostic Front, among others but will now concentrate solely on completing their much anticipated new full-length release. The group also recently completed work on their first DVD, which is tentatively slated for a spring release. However, the DVD remains without a title, so GOD FORBID decided to put this task into the hands of their fans. See below for additional info.
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) states "GOD FORBID has been kicking for 10 years strong, and we are consistently blown away by how loyal our fans have been through our musical evolution. It's definitely time to give something back. The GF camp have been having some trouble coming up with a title for our upcoming DVD, so Dallas (guitars, vocals) thought it might a good idea to involve our faithful fans in our creative process by letting you name the DVD. Yes, YOU motherfucker! Put on your thinking caps and become part of GOD FORBID history. This contest will only be running for a week, and the grand prize winner will get their name listed in the DVD's credits, receive an autographed copy of the DVD, an ESP/Cocaine Energy drink guitar and a case of cocaine energy drinks. The two runner ups will also receive a bunch of other awesome stuff. We're going to pick the top three and have everyone vote on the best title from there. We will announce the winner on Jan.28th. Good luck and let the games begin!"
Please send all DVD title submissions to mail@centurymedia.com and be sure to include your full name, age and mailing address. The contest runs through 12PM on Friday, Jan. 25th.
2008/01/09 - Update from Doc on New Album and DVD
"Howdy partners! It's Doc from God Forbid here to let everyone know what's been going on with the band. It has been a while since we've given an update. We actually just played Stillborn Fest with Hatebreed over the holidays, and it went incredibly well. The shows were packed, and it is amazing to me how our live shows just seem to get better and better over time. They went fucking crazy! Thanks again to Hatebreed for once again taking us on the road. They are great friends and and still one the best live bands around. I'd also like to thank the other bands on the bill; Agnostic Front, Necro, At All Cost, Thy Will Be Done, Turmoil, Shai Hulud, and Bloodjinn. We made some new friends and reunited with some old ones. Definitely a great way to spend the holidays. I would also like to wish everyone a happy new year. This is going to be a big year for God Forbid as we will be releasing our first ever DVD and our first new album since 2005. The DVD is pretty much done except for the menus and we still need a title. It's incredible how difficult it is to come up with something as minute as a title, but it is very important. I've already mentioned how incredible the concert portion looks and sounds, but the band was fortunate enough to be able to screen the documentary portion directed by Denise Korycki, and we were all blown away. It is a combination of historical insight, introspection into our personalities, social commentary, and some goddamn funny ass shit! I guess we were sick of being funny on other bands DVDs. If you consider yourself a God Forbid fan, this DVD will be essential. I think this DVD ranks among the best metal DVDs on the market.
In regards to the new album, we are a lot further along in the writing process. We have a few songs done, and probably a dozen more in the works. The material so far is extremely varied. We have a really black metal influenced song, a sludgy, melodic opus, a much heavier "Fallen Hero" type track, an epic Opeth inspired song, and a bunch of other awesome shit. Rock stuff, prog stuff, slow songs, thrash songs. I honestly am not sure what songs will make the album in the end, but I can say that it will once again be a departure from what we've done but still sound like GF. We will probably end up writing too many songs and having to pick which ones will fit best. Our goal has been to make an album that will not only be a landmark for God Forbid, but for heavy music in general. After showing some very rough rehearsal demos to people, and getting some very enthusiastic responses, I feel like were at least headed in the right direction. We have not finished any tracks with vocals, so I can't answer the ever elusive question about whether there will be more or less singing. I'm still not sure. We will try to do what fits the songs. I can also say that Dallas and I have began using 7 string guitars, so tonally there will be more variety. We will be using some of our older tunings, but will be going as low as A and G for some songs. But no nu-metal songs in case we were getting your hopes up. We will be heading into the studio at the beginning of March with our longtime producer and friend, Eric Rachel at Trax East. So the album we probably come out mid to late summer. Let's keep our fingers crossed on that front. We will also begin videotaping rehearsals and recording, and releasing some youtube updates as the process continues. Keep your eyes and ears open for those.
We do not have any touring scheduled at the moment as the focus is on the new record, but we would like to do some shows to support the DVD release. There is no release date yet unfortunately. The band would like to do some European festivals in early summer, and hopefully land a big US summer tour to help blow this new album up. Any touring plans will be announced in the coming months. Everyone take care and stay metal. Vote Obama 2008!!!"
2007/12/19 - More Tour Dates for December!

2007/08/30 - Koch Records to release 2 classic God Forbid albums!
Koch Records has announced the release of "Sickness and Misery", a new CD featuring two classic albums by the forerunners of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, GOD FORBID, on November 6, 2007. "Sickness and Misery" will contain both the band's first EP, the out-of-print "Out of Misery", and the band's first full-length album, "Reject the Sickness" , combined together into one great package.
GOD FORBID is rapidly becoming one of the top guns in metal, and the launching pad for the band was their two initial releases "Out of Misery" and "Reject The Sickness". Neither body of work has received the proper treatment it deserves until now as Koch, in conjunction with the band, put the two releases on one CD and rename it "Sickness and Misery" . Featuring 16 tracks of sonic brutality these are the tracks that got the band signed these are the classic tracks that first put GOD FORBID on the map. A must of any GOD FORBID fan or metal collector, and pimped out with all new artwork, "Sickness and Misery" is a must for any serious fan of heavy music.
GOD FORBID's Doc Coyle says, "All in GOD FORBID are very excited to re-release these albums. It's an honor to be involved with a renowned label such as Koch. Although 'Reject the Sickness' and 'Out of Misery' have been released in other modest formats, this is the first proper release with full distribution. I think 'Reject the Sickness' is a classic in the metalcore genre, that never really had its due, and 'Out of Misery' really gives true GOD FORBID fans a raw look at the foundation where the band was birthed. Having both releases on the same CD is a great idea! More bang for the buck! This is also the first time either album will see light of day in Europe. For all those who've been bitching about the rarity of these albums, please enjoy!"
Koch Records' VP of Metal Scott Givens adds, "We at Koch are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with GOD FORBID and to give these classic releases the exposure they have so long deserved."
2007/08/20 - And now a message from Doc Coyle...
Hola amigo! It's Doc here letting you all know that the GF boys are heading back to Europe for a tour with our boys in Devildriver! We were very disappointed when the US Tour with Devildriver was canceled, so we were very pleased to get the offer for a European run. In a way, we are more excited to do this because we haven't been to Europe in about a year, and our last UK run was very short. As a band, we need as much exposure as possible in Europe, and we have to thank DD for hooking us up. It's gonna be a rager! Check out the tour dates:

2007/07/27 - Doc Checks In!
What's the word friends? Doc from GF checking in once again. Alot has been going on in the God Forbid camp as always. First off, we can't seem to stay off the road. Haha. We'll be hitting up a 2 week west coast run with our good friends in Devildriver. We have been trying to set up something with them forever, but it never seems to work out. They are some of my personal favorite people in the metal scene, and they bring the thunder live. Mayhem and drunken antics shall ensue. I will look forward to it. Suicide Silence is on the tour as well, and they seem to be really turning alot of heads. Can't to play with them! We'll be doing our own headline shows to and from the Devildriver tour as it takes place almost entirely on the west coast. These shows have been put together kind of last minute so tell your friends to come out bitches! We're also playing the "Gathering of the Juggalos" festival, and have been catching some flack for it on our myspace. Trust me, we were as suprised as you guys when we found out we were playing it, but ya gotta pay the bills. Driving across the country costs money. It's certainly not our cup of tea or comfort zone. Either way, it should interesting, and we'll see how we fit into that odd mix. White people rapping and black people playing metal. It'll be like an alternate universe.
While we've been home for the last few weeks working on the DVD and the new record. The audio for the DVD is done being mixed, and I have to say it sounds monstrous. Eric Rachel hit another home run. I love that guy! Dave Brodsky should start the editing process for the concert shortly, and I expect nothing but good things. We also filmed a bunch of interviews for the documentary, which I am sure will prove entertaining. Denise Korycki is working on the documentary, and she has a big task in front of her in regards to editing. She has every bit of footage ever shot of the band going back to 98 and 99. I am very interested in seeing what makes the cut. Hopefully, we can get it out this year, but we don't want to force it out until it's top notch. Let's keep our fingers crossed. We also started writing for the next GF cd. I can say it's going slow, but it's going. I'd love to get the record out next year, but no promises. We can't seem to stop touring, and the new record has to be a masterpiece or nothing at all. So I expect it to be a painstaking, heart wrenching process that hopefully we'll all survive. See you all on the other side. Peace.

GOD FORBID will hit the road in May on The Monsters of Mayhem 2 Tour as direct support to Hatebreed, with Evergreen Terrace, Terror, The Acacia Strain and After The Burial in the support slots. The group are currently on an international tour of Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Alaska, which wraps up at the end of the month.
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) checks in from Puerto Rico with the following report: "We just finished our U.S. headline tour a couple weeks ago, and it was awesome. We definitely want to thank everyone involved, including the fans that came out and all of the bands, (Goatwhore, Mnemic, Arsis, The Human Abstract and Byzantine). One of the last shows in Sayreville, NJ was filmed for an upcoming concert DVD. The show was fucking crazy - probably our best headlining home show ever! We still have to film a documentary, and mix all of the audio, but we're hoping to have the DVD out this year.
"Right now, we're doing a couple shows in Puerto Rico with our good friends Full Blown Chaos. It's a beautiful, sunny 85 degrees here . a nice change from the snowy conditions back home. From here, we play Australia, New Zealand, and Alaska for first time. I am looking forward to that trip immensely, as all of the other bands that we're friends with who've been there say it's the spot to play these days. Also, our Mexican tour has been postponed; we'll post new dates ASAP.
"I thought these were the last shows we were going to be playing for a while, but we just confirmed Milwaukee Metalfest and a short U.S. tour with Hatebreed. We'll also be working on the next GOD FORBID record between all of this. I have no idea what it will be, but I expect it'll be something different from our last and another continuation in the evolvement of our band. Thanks to everyone for all of the continued support."

Directing the effort will be acclaimed director Dave Brodsky who also directed and edited the forthcoming "Chains of Humanity" music video and "The End of the World" video.
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) checks in with the following report: "It's more than half way through the tour, and it's been a fucking blast! This is our first real headline tour in almost two years, and we've been off the road since October, so we had to get our legs underneath us for the first couple weeks. Trying to fit four albums and an EP's worth of material intoGod Forbid shooting concert for DVD; Release new music video ! an hour and 10 minutes is crazy, but I think we put together an awesome set.
"I definitely have to give props to all of the bands on the tour. Everyone has brought their A-game and has been killing it nightly. I also certainly want to give thanks and appreciation to every single person who has attended this tour. The crowds have been so good to us. The highlights for me have definitely been Connecticut, New Hampshire, Chicago, Louisville, Minneapolis, Kansas, Seattle, Hollywood, Phoenix, San Antonio and Atlanta. I'm sure we'll have many more good ones to go.
"I also wanted to let everyone know that we will be filming our hometown show at Starland Ballroom on Feb. 18th for our first DVD. If you want to be part of history, make sure you buy your tickets soon. It's going to be a very special night. See all you fuckers soon!"

Forerunners of the New Wave of American Metal scene, New Jersey's GOD FORBID, kick off their Revolver-sponsored "Chains of Humanity Tour" tonight at The Webster Theater in Hartford, CT. This stunning headlining package also features extreme metal titans Goatwhore and Mnemic, who are one of the most talked about new acts to hit the genre in recent years. The already phenomenal line-up is rounded out with Arsis, The Human Abstract (who will be on the tour from Jan 4th-31st) and Byzantine (from Feb 1st-18th). This bill is built on speed, aggression and sheer intensity, guaranteeing total brutality and devastation from start to finish.
This tour is GOD FORBID's first headlining run in support of their latest acclaimed album, IV: Constitution of Treason, and they purposely chose to play smaller venues on this run to get more intimate with their fans. These shows are poised to be the ultimate GOD FORBID live experience.
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) states: "Unless some really big opportunities come our way, this will probably be the last U.S. tour for the Constitution album cycle, so all the real GF fans should make that extra effort and find their way to a show in their area. We plan to put together a headlining set that will pummel everyone in attendance! We look forward to seeing you all soon."
A new video for the track "Chains of Humanity" is currently being edited by David Brodsky (Diecast, GWAR, The Red Chord). Look for it to make its online debut early next month. The group also have a newly designed website at www.godforbid1.com and have launched the first few episodes of God Forbid TV (GFTV) at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSzzQ0ffIRc.
2007/01/04 - Tonight's Philadelhia show on the Chains of Humanity Tour Postponed.
We are sorry to inform anyone planning to attend the kick-off show on the Chains of Humanity Tour in Philadelphia that the show is being postponed until Febuary. We are awaiting the exact date of the re-schedule show, but will post it as soon as it is confirmed. We want to reiterate that WE DID NOT CHOOSE TO DO THIS. The venue had some remodeling that needed to be done, and we were told only a couple days before. We have been trying to find a way to do the show, but couldn't find another venue. Again, GF and all of the bands apologize.

2006/11/13 - Canada Tour Canceled
God Forbid has been forced to cancel their previously announced Canadian jaunt with Protest The Hero. Doc Coyle checks in:
"Due to an inability to come to an agreement over a discrepancy between the booking and announcing of a Toronto show on our on headline tour, God Forbid and Protest The Hero mutually decided it would be best if we didn't take part in the upcoming Canadian run. We are very disappointed that this couldn't be worked out, but we are still friends and fans of PTH, and consider this just a postponement of a future touring that I'm sure will be bigger and better. Again, we apologize to any Canadian fans who bought tickets. We will be playing Toronto and Montreal though as part of our headline tour with Goatwhore, Mnemic, Arsis, The Human Abstract, and Byzantine."
2006/11/09 - Trek to Canada
Early next month *GOD FORBID* will embark on a weeklong Canadian trek as direct support to *PROTEST THE HERO*, which will be their most extensive run of this country yet. The tour kicks off on Dec. 9 and wraps up on Dec. 16 and will be preceded by a *GOD FORBID* headlining show in Levittown, NY.
*Doc Coyle* (guitars, vocals) states: "*GOD FORBID* is very happy to announce this Canadian run with *PROTEST THE HERO* and *THE HUMAN ABSTRACT*. These are two of the most exciting and talented young metal bands around right now. It'll also be a great opportunity to play some towns in Canada that a lot of American bands don't get to play. See everyone at the gigs!"
A new live video for the track *"Chains of Humanity"* is currently being edited by *David Brodsky* (*DIECAST*, *GWAR*, *THE RED CHORD*) and will be primarily composed of footage from the renowned *Metal Hammer Awards* show, alongside a slew of hilarious backstage antics. The group have also uploaded the first episode of *God Forbid TV* (*GFTV*); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8we_A-WOfI

2006/11/02 - GOD FORBID Announce Headlining U.S. Tour; Launch YouTube Page
Forerunners of the New Wave of American Metal scene, New Jersey's GOD FORBID, will soon return to annihilate the masses with one of the most brutal package tours of the year. This stunning Revolver-sponsored headlining trek, dubbed "The Chains of Humanity" tour, also features extreme metal titans Goatwhore and Mnemic, who are one of the most talked about new acts to hit the genre in recent years. The already phenomenal line-up is rounded out with Arsis, The Human Abstract (who will be on the tour from Jan 4th-31st) and Byzantine (from Feb 1st-18th). These shows are poised to be the ultimate GOD FORBID live experience, and be sure to get your tickets quick because they are all guaranteed sellouts. This also caps off an extremely successful album cycle for the band, which saw them tour alongside such renowned acts as Children of Bodom, Anthrax and Arch Enemy, among a slew of others.
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) further describes his thoughts on the upcoming tour: "I am extremely excited to announce our first full U.S. headlining tour in over a year. We have been working tirelessly to put together a line-up of bands we respect and felt our fans would enjoy. Goatwhore is a band we first toured with back in 2002 as part of a two-month long tour supporting GWAR, and we've been close friends ever since. They were a tough act to follow back then and I'm sure it'll be no different this time.
"Mnemic are old friends of ours, as we shared a bus in '05 on tour with Meshuggah. Their new album rips! The Human Abstract was brought to our attention quite recently, but when we heard the insane musicianship, awesome sense of melody and epic song writing, we had to have them. Byzantine are one of the most underrated bands in metal, and also some of the nicest guys around. Arsis is making a ton of noise in the underground with their awesome tech/death metal. I couldn't be happier with the bands we have on this tour.
"Unless some really big opportunities come our way, this will probably be the last U.S. tour for the Constitution album cycle, so all the real GF fans should make that extra effort and find their way to a show in their area. We plan to put together a headlining set that will pummel everyone in attendance! We look forward to seeing you all soon."

2006/10/13 - God Forbid Comes Home
"Hey there. We are very happy to be home from a great European run as part of the Hell On Earth Tour. Heaven Shall Burn, Maroon, Cataract, Purified in Blood, A Perfect Murder, and Narziss were all great people and excellent bands. Some of my personal highlights on the tour were the last show in Essen which was the biggest show of the tour and a rowdy as fuck crowd, Denmark where we were fortunate enough enough to play with the legendary Entombed, and Austria where fuckers just lost their minds.
We want to apologize to our UK fans for some of the shows being cancelled or moved around and about some of the shoddy promotion that didn't even have God Forbid listed as playing. We heard some horror stories about how the UK portion of the tour was promoted. We were not in control of the booking of these shows, and are very dissapointed in how it was handled. Anyone who bought tickets in Glasgow or Newport, we are very sorry and plan to make it up with a proper full UK and Ireland tour around spring '07. The UK has been one of our favorite places to play and has some of the most diehard GF fans in the world. We can't wait to get back!
There have been plans in place for a US headlining tour as well which have been rescheduled for Jan-Feb. We want to do at least one more US tour before we start working on another album. What better way to come back than to play a long set with a bigger, more exciting show than God Forbid ever has done! We should have a concrete announcement in coming weeks. There hasn't been an American tour since June, so we are raring to go. Speaking of shows, in addition to our appearance at the Saints and Sinners Festival in Asbury Park, NJ (w/ Killswitch Engage, Unearth, All That Remains, etc), we have scheduled 2 shows with our good friends in A Life Once Lost during the same weekend. These will probably be the last GF shows of the year, so be sure to make it out.
I can't say I'm not enjoying some nice home time though. I get to see my girlfriend, watch all the new shows (Lost, Heroes, Sunny in Philly), listen to some great new records( New Trivium, Mastodon, Lamb of God, Haunted, Stone Sour, Gojira have been rocking my face), and even see some shows my self( Just saw Testament and Trivium this week). Goddamn metal is alive and well! We'll see everyone in the New Year. Be well and enjoy the holiday season."

God Forbid has lined up some summer shows in their time off as well as full European tour as part of the Hell On Earth tour. GF will headline the UK dates with Heaven Shall Burn handling headline duties on the mainland Europe shows. Doc checked in to comment about the Euro tour.
"We haven't been to Europe (especially outside the UK) nearly as much as we would have liked to, so we couldn't turn this offer up to do the Hell on Earth tour. This tour did really well last year, and it will be great to tour again with our friends in Full Blown Chaos and make new friends with the rest of the line-up. We are also looking forward to doing some headlining dates in the UK where we've had a blast playing the last couple years. This is gonna be a lot of fun. We'll see everyone there.รข"

2006/06/27 - Update from Doc
What's up the word in the world of all that is heavy? It's been a while since there's been any update from the God Forbid squad. I think the last time I reached out was when we were out with Chimaira, Arch Enemy, and Hate Eternal back in April. Here's a little re-cap of what's been going on since than:
We did a month of touring in the states in May-June with Ill Nino, Silent Civilian, Bleed The Sky, and Eyes of Fire. We had a great time with all the guys on this tour. It was certainly a party tour. Sober nights were a rarity. I recall many Ipod wars and dance parties on Ill Nino's bus. I don't know if we exactly fit in with this type of tour, but this was our attempt at branching out to a different type of audience. That and we had been friends with Ill Nino for a long time considering they as are from New Jersey, and being another ethnic band, I think we had a lot of in common. So, I think the tour succeeded on some of those accounts, but not others. Also, our friend Wayne from Bleed The Sky is in the hospital right now in serious condition. We send our love.
After this tour ended, we took a trip overseas to jolly ol' England for the Download Festival at Donnington Park. Day 1: We arrived the day before we played, and I was lucky enough to see Devildriver, Sikth, Wicked Wisdom, Alice in Chains, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Korn (with mutiple singers not being Jonathan Davis), and of course Metallica. William Duvall, the new singer of Alice Chains, blew me away. Pulled the songs off perfectly. Big shoes to fill. Avenged really impressed me as well. Matt and Brian are the best singer/lead guitar player combo in rock right now. I fell a sleep during Metallica because jet lag is a bitch. I missed Master of Puppets in its entirety. I'm a dumbass, and am still kicking myself. Couldn't party too hard because we had to get up at 7:30 in the morning.
Day 2: We were the first band on our stage at 11am, which was the second stage. It was in a tent that supposedly held around 16-18,000 people. Being on first, we were worried that our turnout would less than stellar, even though a lot of people told us not to worry. Much to our surprise, the tent packed to the gills for our performance. I'm not sure if it was the biggest crowd we've played to, but I'm it was more or equal to any of the crowds we played to on Ozzfest. The crowd was really active with some crazy pits, singing along, and caused such a dust storm that I was blowing dirt out of my nose for 4 hours afterward. It was great because we could finally drink, and we had literally the entire day to do it. Open bars rock! I love it when someone else is paying for the party. I didn't really watch any bands because I was too busy partying. Got to hang and party with old friends in Hatebreed, Darkest Hour, Devildriver, Cradle of Filth, 36 Crazyfists, Lacuna Coil, In Flames, It Dies Today, Trivium, 18 Visions, and we even got to meet our media rivals Aiden. They are actually super nice dudes. We talked about how great Lost is. We're fucking nerds. Kept looking for Axl Rose. No luck.
Day 3: I finally got some real sleep, and I was going to need it because we were attending the Metal Hammer awards that day. As soon, and I went downstairs to the lobby of our hotel, I ran into Brian and The Rev from A7X. I hadn't seen those guys in like 3 years since we'd took them one of their first tours. They proceeded to get me hammered on vodka and red bulls at noon, and we had some really awesome conversations about music and life for about 3 hours. It is cool to see that they are still cool as fuck dudes. Anyway, on to the award show. For those who don't know this is like a real award show that gets broadcast on MTV Europe, but for metal bands. It was a surreal experience to say the least. We walked into the place on the red carpet for Christ's sake and immediately, we were being photographed by about 25 photographers that resemble paparazzi. Than, we're ushered along to be interviewed for MTV and 3 or 4 other music news networks who grill us about our Download experience. Than we finally get to go in. It's hot as hell in the balcony, but once again, open bars are blessing. There are performances by Viking Skull, Dragonforce, Lacuna Coil, and Bullet For My Valentine. All of which rock! Dragonforce was really fun and over the top, and I was surprised by how good Bullet was. Jada Pinkett Smith was presenting an award, and she brought Byron out on stage unexpectedly, which was a really nice gesture. I partied until 6am, and it was one of the rockstar-esque days of my life. I loved it. Hehe.
Day 4: There a contest held where the winner got to have God Forbid play their house. This was the day of the show. We had no clue what to expect. I couldn't believe it when we ended up at a farmhouse in the country about an hour outside of London. It ended just being a party. There were chickens, horses, a goat, Indian food, beer, and metal heads. What more do you need? Needless to say, I got hammered before we played as there were a couple opening bands who brought the mosh in a barn. We proceeded to play the weirdest, goofiest, funniest, and probably most fun set we've ever played that was filled with improv cover songs, audience requested originals, and unintentional stand up comedy. All I can say is that you had to be there, and hopefully the Metal Hammer article coming out featuring the show/party will shed some light on the misadventures. It was a great way to cap off the extended weekend UK trip and 8 months of touring in a row without a break.
Now we're at home enjoying our first break since "IV: Constitution of Treason" came out back in September. We're hoping to land some more summer festival touring opportunities in America and Europe, but it didn't work out. So it looks like will be off until September. We certainly need the rest. I think we burned ourselves out near the end, but we have been so determined to get this band and this album exposed that I think we forgot the "work smart, not hard" credo a little bit. Either way, we'll be back in the US and Europe at least one more time this year. We'll have info as it comes, but in the meantime I think we'll be doing a couple local shows at the end of the summer. Also, check out www.godforbid1.com because we have to a new mailing list set up. Be sure to check that out. Like you guys, I'm psyched to check out Ozzfest, SOTU, and Strhess tour this summer. I saw the Unholy Alliance tour last week, and it was the best Slayer show I've seen in a few years! Lamb of God and Mastodon brought the house down too. Their new songs were devastating! It's a great time for metal, and it's great to go to see some shows as a fan as well. I'm going to get back to my vacation. Peace.

GOD FORBID Join The "One Nation Undivided" Tour With Ill Nino
GOD FORBID will embark on the "One Nation Undivided" U.S. tour as direct support to Ill Nino early next month. The Jagermeister sponsored 28-city major market assault, which kicks off on May 10th and runs through early June, will also feature labelmates Eyes of Fire in addition to Silent Civilian and Bleed The Sky. GOD FORBID just wrapped up a highly successful, sold-out U.S. run with Children of Bodom this week, which led them immediately into a tour with Arch Enemy, Chimaira and Hate Eternal, which runs through May 6th. Be sure to pick up this month's issue of Guitar World, that features blistering CD-Rom guitar lessons from Dallas and Doc Coyle that take fans through some of the most technical parts of IV: Constitution of Treason, their latest album.
The group's stunning, emotional video for the track "To The Fallen Hero" can also currently be viewed at AOLmusic.com, Music Choice On Demand, MySpace and Yahoo Music, or you can also check it out at the following location listed below. The epic clip, shot by the acclaimed director Shane Drake (Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights), is the group's most ambitious concept yet and will easily catch your attention and set itself apart from the pack. Listen Here
Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) checks in with the following tour report:
Hey everybody, we just wrapped up our short but kick ass tour with Children of Bodom and Through The Eyes Of The Dead. After our huge tour with Trivium in the UK and this Bodom tour, we're right in the middle of about four months straight on the road. We're pretty beat down, but it's all in the name of rock n' roll. We certainly thank everyone on the tour for their hospitality and for making us feel at home. Bodom certainly lived up to their reputation as the band who parties hard and never sleeps with their 300 bottles of liquor on the rider. A tasty beverage was never far away. Watching them play every night was humbling experience as well. The shred factor was through the roof, and having already been a fan it's amazing how something so technical translates that well in the live setting. I will certainly be practicing a lot more and working on my sweeps and speed picking. It was great to meet and hang out with the Through The Eyes of the Dead guys. They are brutal as fuck and have plenty of talent. Make sure you show up early at Sounds of the Underground to check them out.
We recently joined up with the Jager tour featuring Arch Enemy, Chimaira and Hate Eternal. This is one of the best line-ups of the year, and we are ready to kick some ass on this one! Get your tickets fast, because this thing will sell out for sure. We go way back with Arch Enemy and Chimaira, so it feels good to be on tour with your friends. We also just confirmed another U.S. tour with our fellow New Jersey minority brothers in Ill Nino for May and June. Although we've been friends for quite some time, we've never toured together. It'll be cool for us to play in front of a different crowd, and we'll also be hitting up a lot of spots that we haven't played since Constitution came out like Florida andTexas. We'll probably take a well-deserved breather after Download Fest in the UK through the most of summer, but we're currently working on U.S. and European tours for August and September. Take care and stay metal.
From the Billboards...
GOD FORBID's critically acclaimed new album, IV: Constitution of Treason, entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #119 in its first week of release, and it's the first time the group has ever appeared in the Top 200 charts. Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan), the album -- a socially and politically charged vision of a post-apocalyptic world -- further displays the incredible creativity and talent of one of the most highly-respected bands in metal today.
Some Reviews on IV: Constitution of Treason

Road update from Doc:
Hey there. Doc here checking in for yet another update from the road.
Right now, we're 5 days into our UK/IRE tour with Trivium, Mendeed, with Bloodsimple joining us in about a week. I have to say that so far, this is the best UK tour we've ever done, if not the best tour we'll have ever done. For those who don't know, EVERY SINGLE SHOW ON THIS TOUR IS PRE SOLD OUT! Trivium are massive over here, and fortunately for us, their good fortune seems to be rubbing off on us a bit. It's a very young crowd, so all of the fans are so open-minded.
Every night, from our first note these kids are going fucking mental!
Between every song, "God Forbid" chants ring through the venue. It's overwhelming. We are having a blast to say the least. We took Trivium on their first tour less than two years ago because we liked their music, and it's great that they appreciated that, and brought us back out in the midst of their incredible success. A big thanks goes to those guys. We got to play Ireland for the first time since we toured there with Killswitch and Chimaira back in '04. We have definitely gained popularity in the last couple years. We did a signing at Tower Records in Dublin for 2 hours. Definitely the best in-store we've ever done. Just to give you an idea of how crazy these kids are, we got off the tour bus to a crowd of kids chanting our names as we each got off the bus. Not "God Forbid",but "Byron", "Corey", "Doc"! Nuts I tell you. These kids are at the venue from like noon screaming "Trivium" until the doors open, and than they stay until 2 in the morning in the cold with usually no more than a T-shirt until bands come out to sign and take pictures. The dedication is mind-boggling. I wish metal was exposed more to younger kids in the US. I'm happy bands like Avenged Sevenfold are getting on MTV and radio, because it will get more American kids to get into metal, and I think that's what we need. This is only 4 days into the tour mind you. We've still got 2 and ½ weeks left, and with massive gigs left in Glasgow, Manchester, and London, it's only going to crazier.
In other news, I'm sure many of you have heard that we're going on tour with our good friends in Chimaira, Arch Enemy, and Eric and Hate Eternal. This is also a Jager sponsored tour, and will be one of the best line-ups of the year for sure! We're lucky to be able to play with such great bands tour after tour. We're currently working on summer touring plans, and will definitely be doing some European festivals as well as some kind of package tour in the states. Be well, and stay fucking metal!

GOD FORBID Featured Guests On Headbangers Ball; Prepares For U.S Tour With Children of Bodom
GOD FORBID will be featured guests on MTV2's Headbangers Ball this Saturday, Feb. 25th and look for the debut of their stunning, emotional epic video for "To The Fallen Hero" in that same episode. The clip, shot by the acclaimed director Shane Drake (Fall Out Boy, Hawthorne Heights), is the group's most ambitious concept yet that will easily catch your attention and set itself apart from the pack. Be sure to tune into MTV2 at 10PM EST/7PM PST in order to check it out.
The group will then immediately proceed overseas for a sold-out European tour with Trivium before heading back to the U.S. for their much anticipated direct support tour alongside Children of Bodom this spring. They just completed a highly successful run direct support to Anthrax in addition to a headlining run with Sworn Enemy, Manntis and Cannae. Two special headlining NY/NJ shows have also just been announced and check below for their complete U.S. tour itinerary.
GOD FORBID will also be featured on the third in MTV's series of "Headbanger's Ball" themed compilations. The latest, which will carry the title of "MTV Headbanger's Ball - The Revenge", will see an April 11th and feature the following track listing:
Disc 1:

Doc Checking In...
Hey There,
Doc here from God Forbid checking in once again from our never-ending touring adventure. We just finished up a couple weeks with the legendary Anthrax which I have to say is one of the best tours we have ever done! Most of the shows were sold out or packed to the gills.
Anthrax and their crew were extremely welcoming and accommodating to us. I was surprised how cool their fans were as well. I expected an older crowd, but I thought turnout was very diverse from old to young to even whole families coming out. I think we made a lot of new fans in a short time, which is what its all about. Anthrax really brings it live, and I really felt like we were part of history even though we were a support band. Ill always remember this tour fondly. Also, our good friend, Jay Bittner, did an amazing job filling in for Charlie Benante. Big shoes to fill, but I couldnt think of anyone better to hook it up. Congrats to Charlie and his family for birth of their new born baby. Its been fun as hell to get back out with our old friends in Sworn Enemy and new friends in Manntis. We are in the midst of doing some intimate shows with those guys and the fellas in Cannae on the way home. Itll cool to play some cities weve never played before in Canada as well.
We get to rest for a couple weeks, before doing the UK/IRE tour with Trivium and Bloodsimple, which is going to be goddamn HUGE to say the least. Cant wait for that run. Its going to be legend mate! In the words of our UK friends. LOL. It has also just been announced that well be hitting the road with Children of Bodom for a few weeks in March-April. I have been a fan of Bodom since I had to buy their first record on import (Spinefarm records). Im looking forward to this tour immensely to say the least. I hear they are quite the drinkers, so I might have to do prepare for some long nights, dehydration, and a bit of anarchy. Unfortunately, Bullet For My Valentine is no longer doing the tour, but Im theyll find an equally ass kicking band to fill the spot. Once again, that tour is just too short, but were trying to tour as much we can in the US to push this record. We are planning another tour immediately following the Bodom run, so hopefully we can hit the south part of the states like Texas and Florida, which we havent played much recently.
I also wanted to thank everyone who voted for God Forbid on the Sounds of The Underground online poll. We were finished at ..1 overwhelmingly with 22
